TIPS:

1. Use a kitchen scale. Using precise measurements when making your recipes will help ensure your dog is receiving all the nutrients their body needs to thrive. A kitchen scale is helpful for proper measuring and there are a number on the market that cost $20 or less.

2. Batch cook/meal prep meals in bulk. Making several meals at one makes feeding your dog the most fresh and nutritious food even easier. Simply multiply the per/serving amounts of protein and Dog Years Multivitamin by the number of meals you want to make. At meal time, simply gently reheat the recommended serving in the microwave (we recommend 30 seconds to 1 minute depending on your appliance) and violà, a nutritious meal in no time at all!

3. Cook your protein. We don't recommend "raw" diets - there is too much potential for food-borne illnesses. Cook proteins to recommended temps (165°F for chicken, 160° F for ground beef/pork).

4. Keep it simple. We don't include vegetables in our recipes, choosing instead to stick to fewer ingredients (protein + Dog Years) to cut down on the prep time involved with making your own dog food. While the recipes above make nutritionally complete meals, if you feel strongly about adding vegetables or other healthy additions to your pup's meals, we recommend doing your research to make sure those ingredients are dog-safe and will be well tolerated.
